GALLE: The responsible show up from middle order batsmen Asad Shafiq and Sarfraz Ahmed put Pakistan back on track on fourth day of first Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle.
Pakistan were in deep trouble after they lost half the team for just 96 runs, it was Sarfraz-Shafiq crucial 139 runs partnership that brought the host side back in the match.
Sarfraz fell in nervous nineties (96) when he played on Prasad’s wide of the off stump delivery. Asad Shafiq is however staying firm on the crease with 83 runs not-out. Pakistan on 312-8 lead first innings by 12 runs.
Earlier, Sri Lanka was bowled out on 300 by Pakistan. Opening batsman Jk Silva, who played one of the best knock of his short career, scores 125 runs. Wahab and Zulfiqar Baber were leading wicket takers for Pakistan with three wickets each.
The rain stricken match seems to end on draw as two more innings are yet to be played in less than a day and half.
