KARACHI – Co-Chair Person of Pakistan People Party, Asif Ali Zardari, welcomes the statement of Imran Khan, chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, regarding re-elections of Local Bodies in Khyber Pakhtunkhaw.
While talking to media, Asif Zardari said that winners left with no moral right after what had happened on polling day.
The Election Commission of Pakistan declared the recently held local bodies pollings null and void in some constituencies.
According to the government sources, the action had been taken by the election commission on the perusal of complaints received from different areas of KPK.
Around 300 complaints were received by the ECP alone from Peshawar district – relating to rigging, firing and breach of electoral code of conduct.
The senior leadership of Jamat-e-Islami had also called in a meeting to discuss the progress of local bodies polls.
