ISLAMABAD: Judicial Commission (JC) has set the deadline for all political parties to submit any evidence of alleged rigging till noon on Saturday, April 25.
In a statement issued on Thursday by The JC which said that if any political party wishes to submit names to record their statements as witnesses, then they will have to do so by the same deadline.
The lawyer for Mohajir Qaumi Movement during today’s hearing alleged that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was involved in rigging during the general elections 2013.
He went on to say that the MQM collaborated with the administration to rig the elections. He added that the Mohajir Qaumi Movement was not even allowed to campaign.
Lawyer for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Abdul Hafeez Pirzada said that there are reservations regarding the success of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) in the elections, adding that a notice should be issued to the party.
He went on to say that the NADRA report has been examined and irregularities have been found.
Head of the JC, Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk responded that for the time being permission for this request cannot be given.
On the request of PTI, the JC sent a notice to the PML-N, and on the request of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) a notice was sent to the MQM.
The proceeding of the JC was adjourned till Monday, April 27.
