Indian Foreign Secretary arrives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar arrived in Islamabad for a two-day visit to Pakistan, local media reported on Tuesday.

According to reports, Jaishankar was welcomed by officials from the Foreign Ministry as well as those from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.

The Indian foreign secretary will meet his Pakistani counterpart in search of ways for resuming the Indo-Pak peace dialogue which was suspended in Jan 2013.

Jaishankar is in Pakistan as part of a tour of Saarc countries.

Secretary Jaishankar will also meet Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz, besides a likely meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
