Iran agrees to supply electricity to Balochistan

QUETTA: It will be pleasing news for people of Baluchistan that Iran has agreed to supply 2000 MW electricity to Balochistan.

It was announced in a joint news conference by Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik and Governor Sistan-Balochistan Aqai Ali Osat Hashmi in Quetta on Sunday.

The CM said 1000 MW electricity each is meant for Gwadar and rest of the province.

He expressed wished that Pakistan wants to implement Pak-Iran gas pipeline project as early as possible.

The Balochistan Chief Minister also invited Iranian entrepreneurs to invest in Pakistan in the field of fisher, industry, and mining sectors.

Dr Abdul Malik Bloch said border committees of the two countries will meet on 27th and 28th of this month to discuss ways to prevent border incidents.

Governor Sistan-Balochistan said Iran gives much importance to its relations with Pakistan.

Answering a query, Hashmi said some mischievous elements want to create disturbances on the border to harm Pakistan-Iran relations.
