Businessman jailed for eating three tigers in China

BEIJING: A Chinese real estate developer has been pronounced to 13-year imprisonment over buying and eating three tigers, state media reported on Tuesday.

The businessman was identified only by his surname Xu who was sentenced to 13-year in prison and 1.55 million yuan (S$329,500) fine for eating three tights after being caught by a mobile video filmed on tiger’s slaughtering and dismembering which later seized by the police.

The convict was reportedly having a crazy hobby for grilling tiger meat and drinking tiger blood alcohol.

According to reports, Xu bought the tigers on hefty prices during three separate trips of to Leizhou situated in the southern province of Guangdong, gxnews.com.cn reported.

Chinese police also recovered eight pieces of animal meat and bones from a refrigerator in Xu’s home which later identified as tiger parts. 16 geckos and a cobra were also found from the home.
