FAISALABAD: Punjab police on Friday claimed to have arrested a key suspect of Faisalabad violence during PTI’s call for lock-down, , Ilyas Toti, who was accused of firing and killing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker, Haq Nawaz, on December 8.
At least three persons including the key suspect Ilyas Toti said to be arrested during police crackdown while other two persons including Hafiz Imran alias Hafeez and Usman Cheni.
Ilyas Toti is said to be the key suspect, who killed PTI worker Haq Nawaz near Novelty Bridge Chowk in Faisalabad lockdown rally and Punjab government set Rs5 million prize money for arresting him.
Punjab police confirmed the detainment of three major suspects. CPO Punjab said that interrogation would be commenced on merit against the arrested person. However, the persons arrested from which part of Punjab was undisclosed as far.
Overall 20-25 suspects were arrested so far during the police crackdowns underway across Punjab.
