Rohit Sharma’s 264 runs out of reach: Brian Lara

MELBOURNE: Former West Indian great Brian Lara has said Rohit Sharma’s record of 264 runs in One-Day cricket seemed to be out of reach.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma smashed 264 against Sri Lanka in their home series, smashing Virender Sehwag’s record of 219 runs.

Lara said that he had grown up looking at the 189 runs record of Sir Vivian Richards against England.

He said that he thought 200 was achievable in ODI, but Rohit Sharma’s 264 was far out of reach.
