ISLAMABAD: New Naval Chief Admiral Zaka Ullah has taken charge of his duties in ceremony at PNS Zafar Naval Complex in Islamabad.
At the occasion he said that Pakistan Navy has all capabilities to fight challenges in its way.
Earlier, in the ceremony former Naval Chief Asif Sandhela handed over charge of Navy to new Chief Admiral Zaka Ullah.
Senior Defence officials and former naval chiefs also attended the ceremony.
On October 2, President Mamnoon Hussain had promoted Vice Admiral Zakaullah to the rank of Admiral and appointed him the Chief of Pakistan Navy  on the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The newly promoted admiral will command the navy for the next three years.
Zakaullah is a graduate of the Royal Naval Staff College in UK and National Defence University Islamabad. He holds a masters degree in Defence Studies from London University and an MSc (in War Studies) degree from the Quaid-e-Azam University.
The new navy chief also holds awards such as the Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), President’s Medal and President’s Award for Pride of Performance.
