Opposition stages walk out from Sindh Assembly

KARACHI: The opposition in Sindh Assembly staged walk out from today’s session after heated debate between opposition member Shaharyar Mehar and Information Minister Sharjeel Memon over not allotting opposition member benches in the assembly.

At the start of the session opposition members led by Shahayar Mehar seated in front of speaker desk on the floor and protested against not allotting opposition benches in the assembly.

The Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon intervened and said opposition members should be seated at vacant seats available in the assembly.

The opposition benches kept on protest as speaker suggested same advice which was given by the information minister.

On taking government side Mehar criticized deputy speaker Shahla Raza who was presiding the session in the absence of speaker Agha Siraj Durrani.

Later the opposition member left the house as protest.

In absence of opposition members, resolution was presented against the split of the Sindh province which was approved by the government members.

It is pertinent to mention here that MQM had already boycott the session against the arrests of their workers on Wednesday night from Scheme 33 Gulshane Maymar sector.
