FO continues efforts for trapped Pakistanis in Libya

ISLAMABAD: Following special orders of Pakistani premier, Foreign Office (FO) reiterated continuation of its maximum effort to bring back the isolated Pakistanis in Libya.

Pakistan FO said that two relief centres have been set up in Tripoli and Benghazi where hundreds of Pakistani nationals desirous of repatriation have been housed. Two injured Pakistanis have been evacuated through Tunisia.

Hectic efforts are also underway to obtain release of any detained Pakistanis in Libya. In all, 83 prisoners have already been released through Embassy’s efforts in the last two days alone. These had been in prison for many months.

Earlier, the Pakistan’s Foreign Office confirmed that at least 3,000 to 6,000 nationals has trammeled in crisis-hit Libya.
