ISLAMABAD: Customs officials have halted 150 mobile phones consignments on Monday, media reported.
Custom authorities took this decision due to non-submission of clearance report to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) by china mobile phone company.
Custom intelligence authority has ordered an inquiry in past month’s shipments of China mobile as there could be a case of fake NOCs.
This sudden investigation by custom authorities is because of PTA as the telecommunication authority doubts many incidents of fake NOCs.
In past, Security agencies have complained several times that custom authorities never check the IMEI numbers of mobiles imported from China. And that result in conflict about the quantity of mobile phones imported.
