KARACHI: A case has been filed against two unknown persons allegedly attack on a senior journalist and anchorperson Hamid Mir on April 19 in Karachi.
Police department has registered case against ‘two unidentified persons’ who attacked on Hamid Mir belonging to renowned news channel Geo News.
Several attempt had been made to record statement of Hamid Mir but the on-duty doctors refused to permit the officials due to victim’s health condition, police said.
First Investigation Report (FIR) was filed under Anti-terrorism act 15 PPO, 34/324-427 while complaint submitted by Shahadat Khan belonging to local police department as Hamid Mir is still not in condition to record his statement, reports said.
According to reports, a person opened fire on Hamid Mir’s vehicle after his departure from airport and followed the journalist with his partner via motorcycle.
Earlier, unknown assailants shot at senior journalist Hamid Mir on April 17; leaving him severely injured with six bullets in his body.
Mir was transported to a hospital for treatment, following the shooting which was carried out by four assailants on two motorcycles.
