Washington: LG’s flagship smartphone LG G2’s international model is now treated with Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update.
LG G2 users in Korea have been able to upgrade to the latest version of Android since December, while in the U.S. AT&T rolled out the update in late February for its version of the handset.
It now seems that international LG G2 users are in for a treat as well, as they can now get a taste of the latest chocolaty OS.
According to new report from GSMArena, Android 4.4.2 KitKat is now available for download via the OTA service for the global LG G2 model.
The update will bring the software to the very latest version of Android, complete with all the improvements and new features Android 4.4.2 KitKat has to offer, including faster performance, increased battery life, improved Knock On feature, and more.
The update for the international LG G2 is expected to bring the same changes it brought to the AT&T model. The new update is also expected to improve battery performance, allowing the handset to play music more efficiently. Moreover, the LG G2 will also support the battery-saving location mode, which further aims to extend battery life.
Android 4.4.2 KitKat also comes with a considerable speed boost, running apps 17 percent faster than before. The Chromium engine, meanwhile, increases web browsing speeds for a faster, more responsive experience.
Other changes with the latest version of Android include the ability to print in the cloud via Google Cloud Printer, which enables users to easily print documents via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Lastly, the new firmware will also bring improved functionality for LG’s much-touted Knock On feature.
As always with OTA updates, rollout dates and availability will vary depending on region and carrier, and it may take some time to reach all international models of the LG G2.
