LAHORE: The strong-rooted politico-religious party, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, chief Syed Munawar Hasan has demanded the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s formal announcement if government decided for initiating a military operation.
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should declare formally if the government had decided over military operation.
Talking to media on Thursday, Munawar Hasan said the premier should also inform who made the decision over the military operation.
The government talks team had not any power to boycott the dialogues, JI leader said and added that it was the authority of the government to do so. He said the third party was deteriorating the situation.
JI chief said it is the solution of the issue that PM Nawaz Sharif should chair meeting of both the committees, adding if the premier wants he should also called army in the meeting.
Munawar Hassan said that air strikes in North Waziristan Agency should be stopped.
Munawaz Hassan stated that government should formally announce its decision if it has planned an operation against the Taliban.
He said that efforts should be made for success of the peace talks.
Government should not approve military action even if peace talks fail, he added.
