LAHORE: Government of Punjab has decided to change of syllabus books of class 3 to matric in province. New syllabus will be according to modern needs of this era, education sources have said.
Due to this government decision overall 36 books used in syllabus of class 3 to 9 will be changed. Punjab government also decided to carry on both English and urdu medium education syllabus in the province.
According to education sources, the books which are going to be changed are class 3’s English and science books, class 4’s Urdu, Mathematics, English and Islamiyat books, class 5’s Urdu, Mathematics, English, Islamiyat and Social studies books, class 6’s art , draft , Home economics, Agriculture and Persian books, class 7’s mathematics, Agriculture, Science, English, Home economics, Social studies, Islamiyat books, class 8’s Urdu, Social Studies, Science, English, Mathematics, Islamiyat, Arabic, Persian and Home Economics books. Similarly Class 9’s General Science, Geography and civics books will be changed.
The government earlier decision to given up English medium system has been postponed.
Whereas teacher unions’ leaders of the province criticized government decision and of the view that due to this poorly and needy student will suffer.
