Washington: Samsung flagship tablet Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 start getting Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update in the US.
Good news for the Galaxy Note 8.0 owners in the US that their device will receive Android 4.2.2 update soon.
Samsung unveiled the 8-inch Galaxy Note tablet earlier this at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona and released it in the U.S. in April. The tablet initially launched with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update will bring several enhancements and improvements.
Samsung pushed out the software update for the international variant of the Galaxy Note 8.0 3G model in August this year. Now customers in the U.S. who own the Wi-Fi variant of the Galaxy Note 8.0 can benefit from the software update, which is currently being pushed out by Samsung.
The update is rolling out in phases and has reached several users already. It is expected to make its way to all Galaxy Note 8.0 devices by the end of this week.
The software update is available either over the air (OTA) or via Samsung KIES. The software bump brings stability improvements and TouchWiz UI changes that include enhancements to Contacts, S Planner and email.
For the uninitiated, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 packs an 8-inch PLS LCD with WXGA display with 1280 × 800 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 189 pixels per inch (ppi). Under the hood it houses a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor. The tablet also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash, as well as a 1.3-megapixel secondary camera.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 comes with 16GB/32GB of on-board storage with the option to expand to a further 64GB via a microSD card. The tablet also packs in a 4,600 mAh battery and comes with the S Pen stylus in tow.
To update your Galaxy Note 8 to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean via Samsung Kies, connect your device to a PC and follow the instructions. To get the software as an OTA update, go to Settings > About Device > Software update > Update Firmware > Install Update.
