KARACHI: As the holy month of Ramadan is almost near, Pakistan’s official body will meet Tuesday evening for moon sighting.
Ruet e Hilal Committee Pakistan, the official body for crescent watching, chairman Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman says that the meeting will be held at Met Office after Asar Prayer or after 5 pm on Tuesday.
The committee will also receive evidences over moon sighting from allover the country.
Some clerics in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa have announced to meet on Monday evening for moon sighting, emerging reservations that country could have more than one Eid days as was the practice for last few years.
In Saudia Arabia, the official body is meeting today to sight moon.
The federal government has also announced to exempt Sahar and Iftar timings from power outages during the holy month, prohibiting Muslims from certain physical and spiritual deeds.
