Brasilia: Host nation and the defending Champion Brazil on Saturday will take on Asian side Japan in opening match of International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Confederation Cup at Brasilia’s new stadium.
Japan recently booked a spot in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil with five wins in eight matches in final qualifying round in Asia.
Last time these two sides met in October. Brazil took a comfortable 4-0 victory over Japan. The tree time Champions Brazil will be having a home ground advantage over the visitors and it is considered one of the favorite team to lift the trophy.
Eight teams are participating the tournament, which are divided into two groups.
Group A: Defending champions Brazil, Japan, Mexico and Italy.
Group B: World champions Spain, Uruguay, Tahiti and Nigeria.
