ISLAMABAD: Urging judicial officers to work clearing backlog of cases, chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry makes it clear to election authorities that judicial officers will not be available for such duties in future.
He was addressing the meeting of National Judicial Policy Making Committee in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
“Although due to national judicial policy‚ backlog of cases has been reduced but it needs more efforts to provide relief to the people by ensuring speedy justice,” he stressed his sub ordinates.
The chief justice further said that elections were responsibility of Election Commission of Pakistan.
Though judicial officers were deputed during general election, but Iftikhar Chaudhry made it clear that this was only for one time and the same thing will not be repeated.
