LONDON: Bayern Munich wins the Champions League semi-final second leg with 3-0 (0-7 on aggregate) against Barcelona at .
Bayern Munich qualify for the champions league final against Borussia Dortmund at London’s Wembley Stadium in May 25.
This is the first time Barcelona have lost both legs of a European tie since 1987 against Dundee United Uefa Cup.
This result also means we’re going to have the first ever all-German European Cup or Champions League final – Wembley better start ordering in the bratwurst…
Bayern midfielder Arjen Robben is rightly delighted with his side’s performance but is not getting carried away with the final on the horizon at London’s Wembley Stadium on May 25.
“I think it’s a little bit of history maybe,” Robben tells Sky Sports. “Your playing against a team that’s dominated Europe over the last five years. To beat them 4-0 and then 3-0 in their own stadium? It’s amazing.
“We play as a team but defensively we are very well organised. It’s what we always talked about – if you want to win games at such a high level you have to defend as a team.
“We stay calm and play our football. Now of course we are in the final, the third time in four years but it’s time to win it now.”
The Dutch midfielder, asked about the final against Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund on May 25, knows there is plenty of work still to be done if Bayern are to the Champions League to the Bundesliga title they’ve already wrapped up.
“It’s going to be a big one,” Robben says. “Dortmund have proved after the last few years they are a very good team. It’s a game that’s going to be decided on small details.”
