JALALABAD: At least five police officers have been killed in a suicide attack on a police station in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad, reports say.
The reports quoting officials said that seven suicide attackers armed with weapons attacked the police HQ of Nangarhar. They added that one attacker detonated a vehicle “packed with explosives.
Five cops were killed and four others wounded in the attack. Three suicide attackers were also killed by police.
The Afghan Taliban have claimed the responsibility of the attack.
The Taliban said that the attack targeted “foreigners and Israeli teachers” training Afghan police at the base in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province, according to the AFP news agency.
