Islamabad: The outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has suspended talks with the Pakistani government over its “non-serious” attitude towards peace process, a report published in Dawn.com said.
TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan said that the organisation has postponed its offer as the country’s government, military and political parties did seem serious for the talks.
The militants group announced last month that it was willing to conduct talks with the Pakistani government if three politicians—Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s chief Nawaz Sharif, Jamaat-i-Islami amir Syed Munawar Hasan and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam JUI F chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rahman—would act as guarantors.
