Dubai: Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad has tendered his resignation to President Asif Ali Zardari but the president is reluctant to accept the resignation.
According to Geo News anchor, Kamran Khan, Ishratul Ibad, who belong to Muttahida Qaumi Movement, left for Dubai on the party chief Altaf Hussain’s orders and had left the governor’s seat vacant.
“Ishrat, who is suffering from neck pain, is getting treatment from a physiologist in Dubai,” he said citing sources adding that some tests were also performed during the treatment.
Meanwhile commenting on Zardari’s move, the anchor said that Zardari would not accept the resignation of the incumbent governor as he had played an important role in resolving key issues between the two parties.
On the other hand, he said citing MQM sources that party has decided to withdraw from all government posts including governorship.
Speaking on the issue, Idrees Bakhtiar, a senior analyst said that Ishrat was playing a role of bridge between MQM and PPP.
He further said that there were also chances that MQM might replace the incumbent governor with another party activist.
