Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Leader Farooq Sattar has termed Pir Mazharul Haq, the Sindh Education Minister’s, remarks as conspiracy to break the province and said that the people of Hyderabad city are not alone.
Addressing a protest against the minister regarding no public university in Hyderabad, the second largest city of Sindh, Sattar said that few people want fight between the people of Sindh.
He said that the people of the province had showed their message to the minister, adding that MQM chief Altaf Hussain was standing along with the Hyderabad people.
He demanded the PPP government to move a bill for the establishment of a public sector university in the city during Monday (tomorrow) session of the provincial assembly. He added that the MQM will protest if the bill not moved.
Earlier, clarifying his Saturday’s speech that he would not let any new government university to be established in Hyderabad at any cost, the education minister denied the remarks saying their government is not against any new public sector university in the city.
He said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would establish three universities in Hyderabad not one.
The MQM Rabita (Coordination) Committee strongly criticised Haq’s statement announced protests in Karachi and Hyderabad.
