London: Apple recently hired James (Jueng-Gil) Lee, a former engineer for LG Display and who has contributed to its AMOLED TV, the website of the OLED Association reports.
Prior to joining LG Display, Dr. Lee was responsible for development at Cambridge Display Technology (CDT, now Sumitomo), the leading developer of solution-based polymer based OLED material.
Apple, the manufacturer of the world’s first multi-touch enabled smart phone and the highest-satisfaction, and best-selling tablet — is persistently rumored to be releasing an Apple-branded television or entering the home entertainment market with a product competing with game consoles.
If information is correct, Apple is planning an OLED TV that and Lee would assist the project into reality.
Apple also possible to consider the application of this display technology on the Mac, iPhone, iPod, iPad … Currently, not an Apple product is equipped with OLED screen.
