Islamabad: A National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation officer has found dead on Friday at his home in the Federal Lodges.
Police say NAB officer Kamran Faisal committed suicide.
Faisal had been working with Asghar Khan to investigate into a multi-billion Rental Power Plants case against Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.
A probe into the incident is under way.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered to arrest Ashraf in the RPP case.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of rental power case and ordered the NAB chairman to arrest 16 accused including the prime minister within 24 hours and submit the challan by tomorrow.
The SC has also issued a contempt of court notice to the NAB chairman for using the apex court’s name illegally.
The court further said that the NAB chairman would be responsible if the PM fled the country.
The accused include Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, former finance minister Shaukat Tareen, Liaquat Ali Jatoi, Tariq Hameed, Shahid Rafih, Mohammad Ismail Qureshi, Ishfaq Mehmood, Salman Siddiq, Khalid Saeed, Lt General (r) Saeed ul Zafar and others.
