Peshawar: The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Thursday claimed responsibility for the killing of a provincial lawmaker belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Orangi Town area of Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan.
Unidentified men on Thursday gunned down Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmaker Manzar Imam along with his three bodyguards in Karachi.
Sources said that the assailants shot dead Imam in Orangi Town area of Karachi. Rescue sources said that the incident occurred in Nishan-e-Haider Chowk of the area.
Talking to media from an undisclosed location, the TTP Spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan claimed responsibility for the killing, saying it was the second targeted attack in Karachi that they had carried out on the political party.
“We have warned them earlier that we will carry out attacks on them,” he said adding that the outfit would continue to launch more attacks against one of the secular party of the country.
