Islamabad: President Bangladesh Cricket Board, Nazm-ul-Hasan has said that the board will keep their promise to visit Pakistan to play a series in the month of May this year.
Hasan, however, said that a final decision in this regard will be taken after consultation with the board and the Bangladeshi government.
Earlier, speaking at Allama Iqbal Airport, chairman PCB said that the invitation to the team was given during his meeting with the BCB president. “Bangladesh cricket team never refused a visit to Pakistan,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that the cricket team had earlier reportedly refused to visit Pakistan on security concerns.
India’s blatant refusal
On the other hand, India has blatantly refused to play any match in Pakistan whether in the month of August or on any neutral venue.
According to Indian media, BCCI declined PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf’s request, saying they cannot play any series until a tour of the Australian team to Pakistan.
It said that Indian team would not visit the neighboring country until the revival of international country there.
