Kolkata: After having a great start of One Day International series, Pakistan will take on arch-rival India in the second one-day international at Eden Gardens on Thursday where the green shirts have not lost to the hosts ever.
Dav Whatmore’s boys will be hoping to achieve a rare one-day series win against the hosts as they will go into the match as they have 1-0 lead in the series.
Since 1987, Pakistan defeated India in Kolkata on three occasions.
On February 18, 1987, they snuck home by two wickets thanks to Salim Malik’s 36-ball 72; on October 28, 1989, they brushed India aside by 77 runs; and in the BCCI’s Platinum Jubilee Match on November 13, 2004, a fine hundred from Salman Butt took Pakistan to a six-wicket victory.
In 2012, Pakistan won seven of their 12 ODIs.
