Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that by-elections on the two vacant seats of the Senate would be held on January 7, 2013.
The seats have been vacant since the deaths of Malik Salahuddin Dogar and Mir Wali Muhammad Badini.
Salahuddin was member of the Senate from Punjab representing the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Wali was from Balochistan representing Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-i-Azam (PML-Q) on general seats.
Nomination papers will be accepted on December 21 and 22 and polling will be held in respective provincial assemblies on January 07, 2012 from 9am to 4pm.
