Islamabad: Prominent Pakistani news anchor Gharida Farooqi, who has recently joined Samaa TV, is said to have jumped again, moving to Apna TV’s forthcoming Urdu channel.
Gharida, who gained prominence at Geo News, had arrived at Samaa only in September where she hosted the program ’30-Minute’, Journalism Pakistan reports.
She will be based at the Karachi office of the channel that is preparing to hit the airwaves soon.
The management of the upcoming channel already runs the Punjabi-language Apna News, Apna Entertainment and Kook TV. The network is owned by Fahad Hussain Shah, who also recently bought India’s 8XM.
The new channel’s name has not been announced yet.
