Lahore: Rawalpindi Rams earned a convincing victory over Peshawar Panthers here on Friday at Bagh-e-Jinnah, beating them by 7 wickets with 16 balls in hand.
Rawalpindi Rams winning the toss, chose to field and restricted the Panthers at 141 for 7 in 20 overs. Jamaluddin scored the highest number of runs 32 of 25 balls. He was joined by Akbar Badshah who scored 29 of 21.
Yasir Arafat and Hammad Azam bowled excellent spells, Arafat taking 2 wickets while Azam took 3 of 24.
In reply, Rams openers Awais Zia and Naved Malik started off with a flashy start, Zia scored bullet speed 30 while his partner remained unbeaten on 67 of just 42 balls. Rams chased the target in 17.2 overs with 7 wickets remaining.
