Lahore: PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz said on Sunday that we had to redefine our priorities regarding education in accordance with the changing times and needs.
Maryam, daughter of PML N president Mian Nawaz Sharif, was talking with youth delegation at PML-N Secretariat at Model Town, Lahore.
Maryam said that the overall spending on education had been experiencing a constant slashing which was depressing.
“The shrinking allocations of funds for education show that current government is unable to serve the people. It is basic responsibility of any government to provide quality education to every child and create an environment where there are more and more job opportunities,” she added.
Maryam also said that failure of the ruling alliance in Centre had limited the space for the Punjab government, but the Punjab government still had managed to initiate many pro-people infrastructure-related projects.
“PML-N will win in the upcoming general elections. PML-N will not only enhance social sector budget but also ensure spending on productive ventures after coming in power,” she concluded.
