Mumbai: Ailing Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, who was in critical condition yesterday, is now “stable”, party spokesman Sanjay Raut said on Thursday.
“Balasaheb is stable now. Need not worry. He is responding to doctors’ efforts,” TNN quoted Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP, as saying.
Doctors attending to the 86-year-old Thackeray (86) said yesterday that he was in a “very critical” condition and on life support system.

India has stepped up security in suburban Bandra as several party workers started assembling outside his residence ‘Matoshree’.
A number of Shiv Sena MPs, legislators and senior leaders also reached Thackeray’s residence as the news of his deteriorating health spread.
