Islamabad: Pakistan has said that it would not remain silent on the assaults made by the Afghan forces in the country’s northwestern tribal region.
Speaking to the media after addressing the participants of a regional anti-narcotics moot in Islamabad, Foreign Secretary Jaleel Abbas Jilani said that infiltration and incidents of firing from Afghanistan was a matter of ‘deep concern’, adding that they would protest at the highest level to ensure that such incidents would not be repeated in the future.
Jilani said that Afghan Peace Council Cheif Salahuddin Rabbani would hold meetings with Pakistan’s top civil and military leadership.
On Sunday, Afghan National Army fired bomb shells at civilians, killing four persons, among two of whom were children.
