Jamshoro: The Bureau of Students Tutorial, Guidance/ Counselling Service and Co-Curricular Activities (STAGS) of Sindh University has announced to organize Inter Departmental Debate Competition in collaboration with Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, for the award of 15th All Pakistan Inter Universities (Urdu & English) Allama Iqbal Shield Debating Contest – 2012 from October 17 to 19 at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium, Arts faculty Building, University of Sindh Jamshoro.
After holding this contest the two top position holders in Urdu and English debates each will be competing in the Inter University Debates Contest at the Regional Level i.e. Sindh Province.
According to press statement issued here by PRO’s office, Advisor, Bureau of STAGS, Professor Muhammad Yousif Pardesi said English debates will be based upon the topic “Universities are places for learning not for politicking” which to be organized on October 17 at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium, Arts faculty Building. Thus Urdu debate would be held on the topic “World monetary organizations are useful for eradicating the economic bankruptcy” on the second day i.e. October 18. Similarly, the participants of Sindhi language would debate on the topic “The concept of modern life is impossible without technology” on October 19, 2012.
Advisor, Bureau of STAGS advised the Heads of different department to nominate two talented students in each language, comprising of a team of two students from which one will speak in favor and the other in against the topic.
