Islamabad: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam chief of his faction Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday termed Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Kahn a “western agent,” and said that the PTI chief wanted to destroy our society by injecting his ‘western thoughts’ in it.
Speaking to a conference organised by Jamiat Tulba-i-Islam, the student wing of the JUI-F, Fazl said the ‘drama’ of Waziristan rally was being staged as part of a plan of Imran Khan’s brother in law and ex-wife to produce a film.
Meanwhile, PTI chief Imran Khan addressed crowds gathered in Tank after being disallowed by the authorities from entering into South Waziristan.
The PTI leadership decided to hold a public meeting in “Jahaz Ground” in Tank instead of KotKai, Commenting on Rehman’s criticism, Khan said that he wanted to end the speech a little earlier but a ‘Maulana’ (Maulana Fazlur Rehman) was stuck in his head.
Referring to Fazlur Rehman’s constituency in D.I. Khan, the PTI chairman said “when we were young there were some people who neither played nor let anyone else played… If you don’t want to serve the people at least let us serve them.”
Several British and US activists were also along with Khan in the march. The international activists demanded US authorities to halt drone strikes in Waziristan area of Pakistan.
