Islamabad: Wi-tribe’s Pakistan Director Human Capital Alia Zafar has won the ‘HR Professional of the Year’ award at the 11th edition of the Asia Pacific HRM Congress, held on September 6–7, 2012 at Vivanta by Taj, Bangalore, India.
The award recognises individuals and organisations for a professional cause in various award-categories, according to handout released on Wednesday.
Given that the theme of the 2012 Conference was ‘HR – Building Future Leaders’, it is a laudable fact that one of wi-tribe’s very own received the prestigious award in such ceremony that recognises individuals and organisations for benchmarking HR practices, it said.
Alia Zafar is a strategic HR professional, lead trainer, management consultant and certified Hays’s job evaluation professional with 17 years of hands-on experience in diverse industries operating over multiple jurisdictions.
She is a certified Human Resource professional from NUST Business School and HRIT professional from SICF, Hokkaido, Japan.
Prior to wi-tribe, she has served in various financial/hospitality organisations including Internal Revenue Service Pakistan, Habib Bank Limited Pakistan and Hashoo Group Pakistan at different senior strategic positions.
She is also the co-author of the book ‘Directory of Terms – HRM’, a reference book at educational institutes for HR Management students.
