Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday granted interim bail to Member National Assembly Ali Musa Gilani, the son of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and main accused of ephedrine quota case, to September 25.
Earlier, Pakistan Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested Musa from outside the Supreme Court when he came to the apex court to seek pre-arrest bail.
The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk while hearing Musa’s bail plea took notice into the matter and directed the ANF to produce him before the court within half an hour.
Later, the ANF produced Musa before the court and bench granted him interim bail till September 25.
The court has also directed Musa to submit two surety bonds of Rs500,000 each.
Talking to media outside the court after getting the bail, Musa said that he had respect for the judiciary and he came to Pakistan to face the investigation in the case.
He said that the world had seen that who don’t respect the judiciary in the country.
