Townsville: Pakistan Under-19 come off worst at the ICC U19 World Cup after losing to Bangladesh by 5 wickets in seventh place play-off on Friday.
The team, which started off as one of the favourites, faced third consecutive defeat in the event scoring 235 runs for the loss of eight wickets after Bangladesh put the green shirts on bat.
Pakistan top order failed again in the mega event and gifted their first five wickets to Bangladesh on just 81 runs. Mohammad Nawaz and Shahid Ilyas showed little resistance with 82 and 44 runs respectively, taking the team total to 235 in 50 overs.
Taskin Ahmed of Bangladesh took 3 wickets for 80 runs while Dewan Sabbir and Al-Amin bag two wickets each.
Reply to this, Bangladesh batting line were looking positive with 179 runs partnership between second and third wicket. However, Bangladesh loss three quick wickets after crossing 200 runs mark but they beat Pakistan by 5 wickets to take seventh place in the mega event.
Anamul Haque played a great knock with 128 runs while opener Litton Das made 53 runs.
