Karachi: After a closure of about 12 hours, Cellular services has been resumed in Karachi and in some parts of the country.
The service was closed on account of fear of terror attacks in Prayer gatherings of Eid.
The surprise shutdown of the services caused irritation among citizens as their is a trend in Pakistan to send greetings SMS to friends and relatives on the religious event.
The cellular service providers have to suffer the most as millions of SMS are sent during the 3-day event bringing millions of revenue for these providers.
“Militants have changed their tactics, they are now using IED devices, triggered by mobile phones, instead of suicide bombings,” Federal Interior Minister Abdul Rehman Malik said while announcing shutting of service last night.
The citizens would have to suffer in order to save the lives of innocent people, he further added.
