Islamabad: The government of Pakistan on Wednesday filed review petition against the Supreme Court’s judgment over Contempt of Court Act 2012.
Shakoor Paracha, the federation’s counsel, told media that he had filed a review petition in the apex court.
On August 3, the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared new Contempt of Court law null and void and ruled various sections of the law are contradictory to the Constitution.
The court declared the law an effort to curb the authority of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
