Rawalpindi: Dr Rashid Jumma, ex director general health, on Monday testified in a trial court as an approver in ephedrine scam.
The ex DG health appeared before a district and session judge that he was pressured by Ali Musa Gilani, a son of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Mahdum Shahabuddin to allot illegal quota of ephedrine, a controlled substance.
Earlier, The Lahore High Court has granted bail to Ali Musa Gilani till July 30 in ephedrine quota case.
Gilani appeared before the Rawalpindi registry of the LHC and pleaded for per-arrest bail.
The bail was granted against surety bonds of Rs 100,000. Speaking to media outside the court Gilaani said that he was being implicated in a politically motivated case and he had nothing to do with it.
He said he was ready to become approver in the case.
