Quetta: At least 18 people were killed and many others wounded after unidentified men opened fire on the vehicles, traveling from Karachi to Iran, in Khadan area of Turbat, a city of Balochistan, police and rescue sources said on Friday.
Sources said that unidentified assailants riding on motor bikes opened fire on the vehicles, carrying labourers from Karachi to Iran.
“The assailants were able to escape from the spot,” they said adding that the police and other law enforcement agencies have cordoned-off the area to arrest the culprits.
The bodies and injured have been shifted to local hospital in Turbat. The deceased includes the residents of Punjab, Sindh and KPK.
An unknown organisation, Baloch Liberation Tiger, has owned the responsibility of the attack.
It is pertinent to mention here that several buses, taking pilgrims to Iran, have been targeted by militants in the past but the government seemed to have no clue of what has been happening.
