Lahore: The Punjab Police on Sunday raided at the hostel of Sevices hospital Lahore to arrest the members of Young Doctors Association, busy in an ongoing meeting to finalize a tactic against the Punjab government.
Several doctors were arrested by the police while many of them succeed in running away from the scene.
According to sources,around 20-25 doctors were present in the meeting when the police raided the hostel.
YDA Chairman Hamid Butt and YDA Spokesman Amir Bandesha were also arrested during the raid.
They further said that the YDA officials have invited media to brief them regarding their decision on the strike but the police spoil their press briefing.
Punjab Government on Sunday has decided to black-list the young doctors, who were on strike from 13 days, from their government jobs.
The decision came hours after the talks between the protesting Young Doctor’s Association (YDA) and senior doctors failed to reach any understanding.
