Damascus: Syrian rebels has given 48-hour deadline to President Bashar Assad to abide by an international peace plan, backed by UN envoy Kofi Annan, to end violence or face consequences, a rebel spokesman said.
In a statement posted on YouTube, Colonel Qassim Saadeddine said that the joint leadership of the Free Army inside Syria announces that it is giving the regime a final 48 hour deadline to implement the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
“It ends on Friday at 12:00 (9:00 a.m. GMT) then we are free from any commitment and we will defend and protect the civilians, their villages and their cities.”
It is to be mentioned here that UN observes confirmed on Wednesday that at least 13 more people were brutally killed in Syria amid the international pressure on the country after the Houla massacre, which saw hundreds of deaths, including many children.
