Karachi: Younis Habib Waraich, former Mehran Bank chief and central character in the controversy pertaining to disbursement of money between anti-PPP politicians, has revealed that he had personally gave money to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif.
In an interview with Geo News, he also revealed that Rs2.3 million was sent to Shahbaz Sharif through TT on September 27, 1993.
He claimed that a large amount of money was given to Aftab Khan Sherpao.
Mr Waraich said that he supported the Pakistan People’s Party in 1993 election to get his correct his wrong-doings committed against the PPP in 1990.
He said that he support religious elements against Nawaz Sharif in an attempt to correct the “wrong-doings”.
He was of the view that the money was given in terms of bribery and he knew well it was big sin.
