Mianwali: Turn out in by-poll for provincial assembly seat in Mianwali district of Punjab, home town of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, remained very low apparently due to PTI boycotted the elections here on Saturday.
Correspondents said, women at different polling stations of Pai Khel and Chakrala Mianwali-2 PP-44 were barred from voting by the local elders.
According to reports, there has been a tradition and non-written agreement between the locals not to allow women to cast vote since 1956.
Armed clashes and brawls were also reported at different polling stations.
