Telenor Pakistan, as part of its Karo Mumkin initiative, is helping provide 10,000 paper notebooks to school children belonging to low income families. The notebooks are made from recycled waste paper by Sabz, an NGO founded by Fariha Ambreen.
Fariha is a Lahore-based visionary entrepreneur who has worked closely with Telenor Pakistan on the recycled paper notebooks project. In the pictures, Aamir Ibrahim, Chief Marketing Officer, Telenor Pakistan and Fariha Ambreen (center) presented a plaque to Seema Aziz, head of CARE Foundation at a ceremony held at Govt Girls Primary School Rani Pind Rehmanpura, Lahore to mark the handing over of the first batch of notebooks. The students were awarded handsets along with Djuice SIMs and free airtime and Internet access by youth brand Djuice. All winning students belong to low-income families and had secured more than 90% marks in their Matriculation examination by instilling in themselves a desire for a better tomorrow. The handsets will empower the students as they set off towards a brighter future.
